HoS Update 6-10
Dear Charger Family,
It is with a troubled heart that I send this message. The events of the recent past have hurt my soul. Watching the expressions of pain and hurt being manifest by members of our community calls to my mind the words of the Psalmist when he says, “How long, O Lord? Will you hide yourself forever?”
The truest comfort I find is in the divine words of the prophet Isaiah which were read aloud by Jesus as he began his public ministry:
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” Later in Isaiah, we read the words: “They shall build up the ancient ruins; they shall raise up the former devastations; they shall repair the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations.”
The Charger Way states that: “I have a family that loves me. They push me to do my best and to be the best version of myself.” Later it says that, “I have a great love for respect. I am respectful of others because I believe everyone deserves to be treated with dignity. I respect myself because I know that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Everyone has a voice that deserves to be heard.
I will use my voice to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.”
Please know that the Board, Administration, Faculty, and Staff at CCA are fully committed to living out our core values of Family and Respect in a way that seeks health and justice for everyone in our community.
